Karl is drawn to the mystery and beauty of the human form, particularly faces, nice lighting, and hot guys. Most of his work is not as narrative as "Macho Cheese", which was painted for a group art show of the same name. The theme was masculinity, camp, and all around ma-cheese-mo.
